Lapis Inn Hotel & Spa is a 22-room hotel in Sultanahmet, Istanbul, one minute from Hagia Sophia and fifty metres from the Sultanahmet tram stop. Officially a three-star hotel, it was formerly the Ambassador Hotel and was renamed Lapis Inn Hotel & Spa in 2020, at the same address. It has a marble Turkish hamam and massage rooms, and a rooftop terrace where breakfast is served every morning.

We are on Ticarethane Çıkmazı in Alemdar, Sultanahmet, one minute from Hagia Sophia and about fifty metres from the Sultanahmet T1 tram stop. Guests rate our location 9.6 out of 10 on Booking.com and the hotel 4.6 out of 5 on Tripadvisor.

Two ways, both direct with the hotel. Pick your dates on our own booking system and it shows live rooms and rates for you to reserve on the spot, or send the request to reception on WhatsApp or by email and a person confirms your total in writing. Either way you are dealing directly with the hotel.

When you book on our system, every rate shows its price and its cancellation terms before you confirm, so you can choose the one that suits you. Many dates offer a rate with free cancellation. If anything is unclear, reception is awake around the clock on WhatsApp.

Check-in is from 13:00 and check-out is until 12:00 noon. Arriving early or leaving late? Tell us in advance and we will do our best, and you are welcome to leave your luggage with reception on arrival and departure days.

Breakfast is served every morning on the rooftop terrace, with Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque in view. Whether it is included depends on the rate you book, which reception confirms in writing with your reservation.

Yes. We have our own marble hamam and massage rooms downstairs. You can book the hamam and a massage at reception or before you arrive.

Yes. WiFi is free throughout the hotel, including in every room.

There is no private car park at the hotel. Sultanahmet is a historic, largely pedestrian quarter, so most guests arrive by tram, taxi or a transfer we arrange. The tram stops about fifty metres away, and reception can point you to the nearest public car parks if you are driving.

Pets cannot be accommodated at the hotel. If you are travelling with a registered assistance animal, tell reception in advance and we will do our best to help.

Reception speaks Turkish and English.

Yes, from both Istanbul Airport and Sabiha Gökçen, at any hour. Send us your flight number and we confirm the price and pickup details in writing before you fly. The tram also stops fifty metres from our door if you prefer public transport.
